Counselling / Walking Therapy WithKate
Therapy grounded in nature, connection, and gentle self-discovery in the natural surroundings of Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley.
Hello and welcome. I understand that searching for a therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming, so thank you for taking the time to read my profile. You are invited into a calm, reflective and non-judgemental space, whether outdoors in nature or online, where you can gently explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at your own pace. Together, we create space for curiosity, understanding, healing and self-discovery.
A Gentle Space to Explore What’s Happening for You
At times, life can feel heavy, confusing, or difficult to make sense of. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm or a sense of disconnection from yourself or finding it difficult to manage emotions or relationships. You may also be living with the impact of painful or life-changing experiences such as miscarriage, bereavement, domestic abuse or sexual abuse. Within therapy, these experiences are not approached as something to fix, but as something to gently understand and make sense of over time. This process can support a steadier sense of balance, emotional grounding and self-awareness. Therapy can simply begin with where you are.
My Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in the restorative power of nature and an awareness of the mind-body connection. I am a qualified Humanistic Counsellor rooted in Transactional Analysis (TA) and Person-Centred Therapy, working in a trauma-informed and relational way with adults aged 18 and over. Together, we gently become curious about your emotional and bodily experiences, helping you better understand patterns, relationships and the inner resources already within you. Central to my work is the belief that meaningful change grows through a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safely seen, heard and understood.
Walking Therapy in Nature
Sessions are primarily held outdoors in the Royal Victoria Country Park, including walking therapy (sometimes referred to as eco-therapy or walk-and-talk therapy), which can support reflection, grounding and new perspectives.
Walking side by side in natural spaces can sometimes feel gentler than sitting face to face in a therapy room. The natural environment can support calm and reflection while allowing space to explore emotions, relationships and life experiences.
Together, we move at a pace that feels right for you, allowing space for self-awareness, resilience, self-compassion and connection. Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or simply unsure what you need, I offer a grounded and compassionate space to support you towards greater clarity, insight and wellbeing.
Integrating Mind and Body
At times, I may gently incorporate grounding or Tai Chi-informed movement into our sessions to support emotional regulation, breath awareness and connection with the body.
These practices are always optional and offered with sensitivity, taking into account your individual needs, preferences and comfort.
Online and Phone Sessions
Although much of my work takes place outdoors, I recognise that nature-based sessions are not always possible. Online and telephone counselling offer a flexible alternative for those who are unable to meet outside, live at a distance or simply feel more comfortable connecting from home.
Where appropriate, we may still draw on nature, mindfulness or gentle grounding practices to support reflection and wellbeing, always in a way that feels comfortable and right for you.

Beginning Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. If this approach feels right for you and you would like to explore things further, you are warmly welcome to reach out for an initial 20-minute conversation. There is no pressure or expectation, simply an opportunity to see whether this feels like the right space for you. And if I am not the right fit, I genuinely wish you well as you continue your journey.
Your privacy is important within this work. Any information you share is held confidentially and used only to support you through therapy. I keep brief, secure records and follow GDPR and BACP ethical guidelines. As part of my professional practice, I attend supervision, where discussions are anonymised. As sessions may take place outdoors, we will gently consider confidentiality within public spaces together.
